This 2 days course is meant to be your Open Water License in to the Freediving world.
It is a good starting point for freediving, who had a previous background or who feel at ease in the water. You will learn new skills, relaxation techniques, physiology, theory, safety and practice skills in open water, applied to various disciplines of freediving.
DAY 1: We usually start in the morning around 10.00 am - 12.00 knowledge development. Freediving equipment, mammalian diving reflex, diaphragm breathing, danger of hyperventilation, boyle's law, depth & pressure, finning style, ear anatomy.
12.00 – 14.00: Lunch break.
14.00-17.00 - Pool. We will start again by stretching and learning to breathe correctly for freediving, how to use your breathing to relax. You will try a dry breath-hold. Static Breath Hold & Mental management (up to 3 minutes) in the pool. Swimming(Dynamic) with fins up to 50 meters in the pool end rescue.
DAY 2: We will take you to our the best dive site "Sail Rock" with calm waters and deep depths, and guide you on your first ever freedive in the ocean.
We spend a lot of time in the water perfecting all aspects of your technique which in turn will be increasing your confidence and comfort underwater.
We will practice descending on a line, while working on equalization, streamlining, duck dive and relaxation.
• aged 15 years or older,
• be able to swim at least 200m non-stop without fins, and at least 300m non-stop with mask, fins and snorkel.
To successfully complete the PADI freediver you will need to hold your breath for 2 minutes and swim underwater with fins 40 m swimming in the pool and dive up to 16 meters in ocean.
